INTRODUCTION

From Analog Communication to Digital Solution 

Medium and large manufacturing companies often face a common challenge: effectively communicating with employees who spend most of their time in production halls doing manual work. This case study focuses on our solution that addresses this challenge. We designed and developed our own solution - a complex employee application called Crewlogy.

BOGE is a Motor Vehicle Manufacturing Industry company with over 800 employees. They needed to improve internal communication, share information and company news with employees, and centralize access to employee benefits and important contacts (colleagues, team leaders, and external subjects). One of the needs was to establish a solution to gain employee feedback, report problems, or suggest improvement ideas to leadership.

Before adopting and implementing our solution, an employee application Crewlogy, BOGE relied on various analog boards to keep employees updated on company events and news. Our solution enhanced BOGE's internal communication and also boosted employee engagement and loyalty.

CLIENT PROBLEM

Replacing Analog Boards with Innovative App

The main challenge of this project was to create a new efficient online platform that would address the client's needs: providing employees with an opportunity to submit feedback, make suggestions for improvement, and communicate with leadership. Before adopting and implementing our solution, the BOGE company communicated with employees only through offline methods, using boards and tables, which were not effective and provided employees with zero or very limited chances to communicate with the company. This situation often led to missed updates and disjointed communication, restricting both employee engagement and information flow. To address this, we developed a solution - an employee app that improved information access and also boosted employee engagement, fostering greater company loyalty.

SOLUTION

Employee Mobile App for Effective Internal Communication

We designed and developed native mobile applications for Android and iOS with a web interface for managing application content. Through the application, employees gained access to a centralized platform where they could receive real-time updates, news, and announcements. The intuitive interface ensured easy navigation, allowing employees to quickly find relevant information without the hassle of searching through physical boards.

Key features:

  1. Real-time Updates: Employees receive instant notifications about company news, events, and important announcements, ensuring they stay informed at all times.

  2. Centralized Information Hub: All relevant information, such as company policies, procedures, and departmental updates, is conveniently accessible in one place, eliminating the need for multiple communication channels.

  3. Interactive Communication: The application facilitates two-way communication, allowing employees to engage with management, ask questions, and provide feedback directly through the platform.

  4. Personalized Content: Employees can customize their notification preferences and tailor the content they receive based on their roles and interests, ensuring relevance and engagement.

Another dynamic section managed in the back office, allowing employees to view and apply for internal job openings.

Questions and Suggestions

Predefined categories enable employees to submit questions and suggestions, with status visibility through the back office. Communication between parties is handled via email, ensuring efficient resolution of queries.

Menu (in progress)

We are working on adding the Menu module, where weekly business lunches are uploaded on a preselected day for the following week, featuring a maximum of 6 dishes for employees' convenience.

Employee App Transforming BOGE's Operations and Brand Perception

The employee app we developed significantly enhanced our client's business performance by centralizing essential information and streamlining internal communication. This solution solved issues with fragmented information access, inefficient communication, and low employee engagement. Notably, more than 80% of BOGE employees use this solution, highlighting its effectiveness and widespread adoption.

The app has become a vital tool for operational efficiency and employee satisfaction. Additionally, the app has improved brand awareness and customers' loyalty to the employer through identification with the brand, stronger brand perception, and engaging active users.
